Terms & Conditions
Information about getting in touch, confidentiality and how your enquiry is handled.
About these terms
These terms explain how to use the Stow Talking Therapy website and get in touch about therapy. Your therapy itself is covered by the contract you receive, review and sign before sessions begin.
Getting in touch
Sending a message through this website is an enquiry, not a booking. Emily will reply to arrange a free 20-minute consultation over Zoom. Therapy begins only once you have both agreed to work together and the contract has been signed and returned.
Fees and payment
Session fees and payment arrangements are confirmed before therapy begins and set out in your contract. No payment is taken through this website.
Cancellations
The notice period for cancelling or rearranging a session is set out in your contract. Please get in touch as early as possible if you need to change a session.
Confidentiality
What you share in therapy is confidential. There are limited circumstances in which confidentiality may need to be broken, such as a serious risk of harm to you or others, or where the law requires it. These limits will be explained in your consultation and contract, and wherever possible discussed with you first.
Professional standards
Emily McDonald is an NCPS Accredited Professional Registrant and works in line with the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society’s code of ethics, including regular clinical supervision.
If you are in crisis
Therapy and this website are not emergency services. If you are in immediate danger, call 999 or go to your nearest A&E. For urgent support you can call NHS 111 or contact Samaritans free on 116 123, day or night.
Your enquiry and personal information
The contact form collects your name, email address, optional phone number, preferred way of meeting and a short message so that Emily can respond to your enquiry. Please share only what feels comfortable. Enquiries are stored securely in the website’s administration system and are never used for marketing.
You can ask about the information you have supplied, request corrections or ask for it to be deleted. Some information may need to be kept where required for professional record-keeping obligations.
Website content
The information on this website is general and is not a substitute for individual therapeutic or medical advice. Text, photographs and design elements belong to their respective owners.
